Since she was a young girl, Ms. Gruzen knew she always wanted to be an attorney. She first began working in a law firm while in high school and has worked from the bottom up. As an attorney, Ms. Gruzen has experience in all aspects of litigation from discovery and depositions to mediation and trial. Ms. Gruzen is returning to the practice of law after taking time away from her career to focus on raising her two children.
Ms. Gruzen is admitted to practice in all California State courts in June 2003. Ms. Gruzen is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, United States District Court, Northern District of California, United States District Court Central District of California, as well as the Supreme Court of the State of California.
Ms. Gruzen graduated from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento in 2002. Ms. Gruzen had the opportunity to study abroad under former United States Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. Prior to law school, Ms. Gruzen received her Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University, in 1999 majoring in Administration of Justice.
During her time away from the practice of law, Ms. Gruzen volunteered extensively at her children’s school serving as the President of the Booster club both at the elementary and middle school as well as spearheading efforts to raise funds so that the schools could continue to offer an enriched education that the school district could not provide. Navigating the extensive intricacies of LAUSD, parent and teacher relationships is a lesson well learned and can be applied to the most difficult of circumstances.
