Focus : Civil Litigation
Mr. Liu represents developers, general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, and insurance carriers, as well as private individuals, in construction and insurance related disputes.
Prior to joining David H. Pierce & Associates, Mr. Liu was in-house litigation counsel for a national engineering firm and was responsible for handling its litigation matters throughout California. He has also represented both insurance carriers and their insureds in both first and third-party matters. Mr. Liu has been a frequent speaker for the National Business Institute on the topics of Insurance Coverage Law in California, Bad Faith Litigation in California, and Emerging Issues in California Indoor Air Quality and Toxic Mold Litigation. He has spoken at the Defense Research Institute’s Construction Law Seminar on the topic of “Green” Building Litigation, and the Property Loss Research Bureau’s Claims Conference on the topic of Building Codes.
Mr. Liu was admitted to the California State Bar in 1995. He is also admitted to practice in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Central District of California, Eastern District of California, Northern District of California, and Southern District of California. Mr. Liu is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and was previously a co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Bad Faith Subcommittee of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee.
Mr. Liu is a graduate of the Notre Dame Law School and the University of California at Berkeley.
